Team Launch for a Pharmaceutical Company
Genmab is a fast-growing biotech company with a focus on oncology. Its Compound Development teams are spread geographically across the east coast United States, Netherlands and Denmark, yet they need to form and perform quickly and effectively. This is all the more challenging because members typically work in multiple teams and run the risk of losing focus as workloads fluctuate.
What we did
We designed a two-day team launch event that rapidly set the foundations for effective communication, shared expectations and agreed roles and relationships. The event combined workshop sessions with relaxed social interaction, providing a rich shared experience for a culturally diverse team. Following the team workshop, we provided online coaching for each team member to help them embed simple, practical behaviours to sustain their commitment to the newly launched team.
The impact
One month after the off-site, team members reported an average 40% improvement in their individual behaviours. This was reflected in a greater focus and commitment to the team’s goals, contributing to a successful launch.
