Team Audit for a Professional Regulator
The ARB is the UK’s regulator for Architects, responsible for setting and maintaining professional standards. We were asked by their new CEO to work with the leadership team because the organisation had been through a period of turbulence and he was worried the organisation was ‘running hot’ as people worked hard to maintain service and standards during the pandemic. He wanted to ensure his leadership team were ready to meet the challenges ahead.
What we did
We interviewed each of the five Directors and a selection of people from across the ARB to build an understating of working relationships and to get a first-hand experience of the current culture. The Directors also completed our Exceptional Team Audit to assess their team against a clear and valid benchmark. We collated the stakeholder feedback and Team Audit results and shared this with the team.
The impact
Simply taking time together in person to reflect during a difficult and busy period was invaluable for the senior team. The conversations sparked by the feedback highlighted both the team’s strengths, and areas to develop. We supported each Director to identify their individual development priorities and helped the whole team establish a clear foundation for working together.
